In language learning, it's often assumed that everyone should follow the same path: start with A, move on to B, and end with C. But in the YFI methodology, we know that every learner is unique and has a different goal. That's why our approach is to personalize learning, defining a clear objective that guides the entire process. It's about figuring out why you need each skill and in what order of importance.

The Power of Goals: How Ee Organize Your Learning
If your main goal is to travel, what skills do you need to master first?
Speaking: You need to communicate, ask for directions, and interact with people. Fluency and pronunciation are essential.
Listening: Understanding what people say in a restaurant, on the street, or on public transportation.
Reading: Deciphering menus, signs, or posters in the city.
Writing: Typing a quick message or filling out a form.
In this case, you would work on all four skills, but with an intense focus on oral interaction and listening comprehension for your target market.
Now, imagine you need the language for the corporate world. Your order of priorities would be quite different:
Writing: Composing emails, completing reports, or creating documents.
Reading: Understanding the information contained in these documents and responding accurately.
Listening: Understanding what is being said in meetings, even if you don't need to actively participate.
Speaking: Giving a presentation or participating in a meeting when necessary.
As you can see, the YFI methodology prioritizes what you really need in your daily life or in your professional life. This allows us to guide our students toward faster, more effective, and more realistic results.
Each skill, a different brain
We often hear students say, "I understand everything I read and hear, but I can't speak it." There's a reason for this. Although we believe the four skills are intrinsically linked, our brains process them differently. They require specific exercises for each.
When a student starts with us from scratch, the first skill we work on is reading. This allows us to establish the logic and patterns of the language visually. It's the foundation on which we build everything else.
At the same time, we use a multitasking approach:
The student reads aloud to practice pronunciation and become familiar with the articulation of sounds.
They listen to audio on our platform to train their ear with rhythm and intonation.
They repeat phrases and are constantly exposed to the language, focusing on the vocabulary necessary for their goal.
Following this process, once the student understands the logic and patterns of the language, speaking becomes a much easier and more natural process than many imagine.
With YFI, you will learn English and Spanish quickly and effectively. Our programs are designed for professionals and entrepreneurs seeking real results.
